What is Aqeeqah?
Aqeeqah (also spelled Aqiqah) is the Islamic practice of sacrificing an animal after the birth of a child. It is a way to express gratitude to Allah, announce the child's arrival, and share blessings with others.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
Every child is held in pledge by his Aqeeqah, which should be sacrificed for him on the seventh day.
Why is Aqeeqah performed?

When should Aqeeqah be done?
The recommended time is the 7th day after birth. If that is not possible, it can be performed later — there is no fixed expiry, but sooner is better.

Traditionally, meat is:
- Cooked and shared with family and friends
- Distributed to needy families
For overseas clients, meat is distributed locally in Karachi to deserving Muslim families.
